The late retired General
FOUNDER OF SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES
Although he himself never had the opportunity to further his education, General Zvinavashe fully appreciated the role of education in the development of the nation. In 2001, he founded the Tynwald Pre-School, Primary and Secondary Schools. He extensively encouraged members of the Zimbabwe Defense Forces to improve on their academic and professional qualifications. He was instrumental in helping the Zimbabwe Staff College to be bestowed Associate College status by the University of Zimbabwe, when he chaired the Board of Governors for the College.
General Vitalis Musungwa Gava Zvinavashe was a loving father, hard-working soldier, a great advisor, a pillar of strength and also the founder, owner and director of Tynwald School. He also had a dream - the dream to enlighten the nation through education. The dream came true when he successfully built Tynwald Nursery, Primary and High Schools. This is evidence of a soldier who had a unique character and a clear vision. His hope was that one day the world would come to see what drove him to put his heart into this project.
He was an inspiration to the Tynwald School Today we look at the walls of Tynwald Schools and they depict desires that have been and will be fulfilled, mountains climbed and battles won. These walls give an understanding of the General s dedication to quality and excellence.
